Star Force: events, spares and destruction risk
Compare a star goal under the same assumptions, and separate enhancement costs from replacement items.
Worked example: a level 200 item from 17 to 22 stars
For ordinary equipment, mode 1, safeguard on, no MVP discount and zero replacement cost, the local model gives these results. The Shining scenario uses destruction reduction through 21 stars, matching the calculator's default:
| Scenario | Meso | Attempts | Destructions | At least one destruction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No event | 39.54B | 129.2 | 4.24 | 80.91% |
| Shining selected | 21.54B | 86.3 | 2.43 | 70.81% |
These are averages across repeated runs, not a budget that guarantees 22 stars. The destruction count includes repeated breaks; the percentage answers a different question: whether a run has any break at all. Set a replacement price to include the cost of obtaining another item.
Compare the same goal with and without an event before deciding when to spend. Selecting Shining describes that scenario; it does not mean the event is active today. Estimates use the calculator's GMS v271 community model.
Model inputs: pinned community rates. Game changes: Nexon's v271 notes. The expected results above are calculated here, rather than quoted from those notes.
Put a price on the next replacement
Zero replacement cost means a broken item does not add a purchase to this estimate. It does not remove the destruction, the attempts, or the cost of rebuilding the replacement to the target. If another copy must be bought, enter that price separately.
| Scenario | Enhancement | Replacements | Total mean cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| No event, owned spares | 39.54B | 0 | 39.54B |
| Shining, owned spares | 21.54B | 0 | 21.54B |
| Shining, replacements at 1B | 21.54B | 2.43B | 23.96B |
A spare count is not a guarantee
The expected destruction count is an average. It is not the number of copies you should expect every run to consume, and the calculator does not turn that mean into a probability of exhausting a specific number of spares. The chance of at least one destruction answers only whether any break occurs. If the only remaining copy matters to you, examine that risk as well as the mean meso cost.
Keep the comparison fair
Use the same equipment type, item level, star range, enhancement mode and safeguard setting on both sides. An event comparison that also changes the target or replacement price cannot tell you how much the event itself helped. Select the event as a scenario; check the game schedule separately before spending.
